The Unexpected Works: Humor in News Releases

I was browsing the news today and saw a headline that the South Park creators are creating their own studio. Most of it was run of the mill Hollywood jabber, but a quote by the comedy duo stood out. They took a typical PR quote and made it tongue and cheek. It’s a great example of how to bring your brand to life (humor in this situation) and make your press release stand out.

“Having worked with several different studios over the years, we came to realize that our favorite people in the world are ourselves,” said Parker and Stone in a news release. “We hope to work with ourselves for a long time and are excited to now work with ourselves in a much greater capacity.”

It’s just a small reminder to break from the jargon and let personalities shine in quotes.
